This is a 4+ hour course designed for students with limited or no experience with handguns. By the end of the course, the student will have learned the common types of handguns, how to safely handle them, loading and unloading procedures, information on purchasing ammunition, selecting a handgun and tips on safe storage of a handgun. During the hands-on portion of the class, each student will receive one-on-one instruction at the firing line reviewing safety, proper grip and stance prior to firing the first shot. Students will be able to shoot a variety of handguns of their choosing for familiarity. Students will leave this course with the knowledge and a written list of what type of handgun(s) they are comfortable and proficient with so they can make an educated decision when purchasing their own firearm. This course will be held in the cabin and upper range.
Please DO NOT bring any personal firearms or ammunition to class unless given prior approval from the instructor. Students wishing to fire their own handguns must talk with the instructor prior to class to determine if it will be possible.
Comfortable and durable clothing and shoes
No open / low cut shirts(to avoid burns)

Juvenile students will be admitted at the discretion of the Instructor. Adult students must be able to legally own and possess a firearm, and participation in firearms training will not violate any court order or laws.
This course is held on the upper level, park your vehicle to the right of the cabin (as you're looking at it), and find an instructor to check in and receive instructions. Please leave all weapons in your vehicle.

This is an entry level course designed for the student who has taken the Introduction to Handgun and has now purchased their own firearm. This course will involve disassembly and reassembly, cleaning and manipulation of your firearm. We will discuss the different holsters for various activities to help you decide what is right for your needs. If you already have a holster bring it. If not, one will be provided for the shooting portion of the course. Range time will consist of perfecting your stance, grip and the fundamentals of shooting.
