This is an entry level course designed for the student who has their own firearm and wishes to learn how to effectively use it for self defense and maintain it. This is a new course designed for the woman who has a handgun but isn't comfortable with her abilities to maintain and manipulate it effectively. This course will involve disassembly and reassembly, cleaning and manipulation of your firearm to include magazine changes, malfunctions, draw and presentation, single hand and support hand shooting and much more. We will discuss the different holsters for various activities to help you decide what is right for your needs. If you already have a holster bring it (if you have two, bring them both). Range time will consist of perfecting your stance, grip, the fundamentals of shooting, and defensive shooting drills.
The course is broken up into three (3) hour sessions. Each session will be held in the evening at the Indoor facility of Alder Brook Shooting Range. The first half will be instruction while the second half will be live fire.
Each session will build upon the instructions from previous sessions. As such, students must commit to all three sessions.
