Bad things happen at night! RFT's low light course teaches the experienced shooter how to properly employ a light with a firearm, be it a handgun, rifle, or shotgun, in low light or no light conditions. Shooting is done with both weapon-mounted lights, and hand-held, going over the various methods and explaining their pros and cons.
We also discuss when and how to use a light, and when and how not to. We discuss the various light options, incandescent versus LED and IR. Lights are employed from static positions coming from the holster, on the move, and from a position of cover. There are multiple target engagements, laser demonstrations, malfunction drills, reloads, and basically anything else the instructor can think of to throw in the mix.

Revolver - Wheel guns rock, but only if you train with them. As one of the few certified revolver instructors in the state, I take pride in teaching the value of one of the most reliable weapon platforms in existence. This course covers proper loading, unloading, and rapid reloads/sustainment loading. You will learn that even revolvers are not infallible, and how to avoid the potential for malfunctions. What are the benefits of revolvers over automatics? What are the drawbacks? What makes the revolver a suitable home defense weapon compared to a rifle? What are the best calibers and loads? 38 or 44? We'll discuss the reasons and different options available. This is a half day course that can be done in conjunction with the BUG course.
BUG - We carry spare mags, so why not carry a spare gun? This course, while designed for the law enforcement officer, is applicable to any armed responsible citizen carrying a BackUp Gun. Learn what makes for a reliable BUG. Semiauto or revolver? 380 or 38? Ankle rig, thigh rig, pocket holster? You'll get the chance to try different weapons, methods of carry, and more. You will shoot your BUG in every conceivable position. This course entails significant physical exertion. Expect to get more dirty than usual. Expect to have fun. This is a half day course that can be done in conjunction with the revolver course.
